The club has been around for over 70 years and exists solely for the purpose of getting its members onto the mighty Ruapehu to do their stuff.
Amazing Location
The Hut is situated at an altitude of 1792m, the highest ski club lodge on Mt Ruapehu and indeed New Zealand. The view out over Ngauruhoe is seriously stunning.
Social Atmosphere
The club is very social and we all enjoy catching up at the end of the day to enjoy a drink, have a yarn and a few laughs. The kids all knock around together and build friendships fast.
Great Facilities
Fully equipped large kitchen and pantry. Communal lounge and eating area. Large drying room, ample gear storage. 28 single and double bunk beds.
Family feel
The Hut operates like a big family, everyone pitches in. The club host or hut leader will roster people onto duties and everyone gets involved, kids included. Everyone keeps an eye out for each other, old and young.
